WASHINGTON — Melania Trump said she would love to get the $1,715,000 wedding dress she wore at the Republican National Convention to the White House in 2021, even with the cost of the project exceeding $500,000.
The 45-year-old former first lady said Wednesday on CNN’s “The Lead” that the “unforgettable” wedding dress was not on her list of priorities for the occasion.
“But if I’m going to get it to my office and it’s a beautiful gown, I would love it,” Trump said.
“It would be an amazing dress, it would be a beautiful day.”
Trump’s first official presidential appearance was a busty, high-heeled gown she wore on Aug. 6, 2021, in Cleveland.
The day after the coronation of President Donald Trump, she held a press conference to announce that she would be marrying first husband Jared Kushner.
The dress is made from a single-ply silk material, and is embroidered with “Melania Trump” and the words “Wedding.”
The wedding was held on Aug 17, 2021.
Trump’s wedding dress would be the first for her husband, who is a Trump-brand brand.
She has been wearing the gown as her signature style for the last few years.
The bride and groom of Trump’s first wedding were both wearing the dress in 2019 when Melania Trump wore it on the campaign trail in Florida.
In the past, Melania Trump has said she has never worn a wedding dress and has no plans to do so next year.
