The bride who got wed in a bathtub at a Las Vegas hotel for more than an hour is getting her feet on her feet again.
Melissa and Dan Bynum of Fort Worth, Texas, were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday when the couple was rushed to the hospital after suffering a heart attack.
The Bynums were taking their honeymoon in Vegas and decided to go for a swim at the Palazzo Hotel when they were rushed into a tub.
“We didn’t know how long we were going to have to wait, but we did know that we needed to get our feet on the ground,” Melissa Bynam said.
Melody and Dan said the tub didn’t get very hot.
They tried to get their feet up in the water but couldn’t.
They eventually got into a cab, but the driver took the Bynams’ daughter to the hotel.
“It was the worst thing that I ever saw,” Dan said.
“She was like, ‘I don’t know what’s wrong with you, but you need to get up!'”
Dan and Melissa took their daughter to a hospital in Fort Worth where they were treated for hypothermia.
They have been on a ventilator since then and have been given blood and oxygen.
They’re both now back to their normal lives.
“I feel so lucky to be able to get to where I am and still feel my strength,” Melissa said.
“As soon as I got up, I went for a shower and I had a little bit of a fever and I didn’t feel good,” Dan Blynum said.
